The beginnings of A Program in Wonders could be tracked back once again to the relationship between two persons, Helen Schucman and William Thetford, both of whom were prominent psychologists and researchers. The course’s inception occurred in early 1960s when Schucman, who had been a clinical and research psychologist at Columbia University’s University of Physicians and Surgeons, started to experience some internal dictations. She explained these dictations as coming from an inner voice that identified it self as Jesus Christ. Schucman originally resisted these experiences, but with Thetford’s inspiration, she began transcribing the communications she received.

Around a period of eight decades, Schucman transcribed what would become A Program in Miracles, amounting to three quantities: the Text, the Book for Students, and the Handbook for Teachers. The Text lays out the theoretical base of the course, elaborating on the core methods ucdm principles. The Book for Pupils includes 365 classes, one for each time of the season, designed to guide the reader through a daily training of applying the course’s teachings. The Manual for Educators gives more advice on how to realize and train the maxims of A Class in Miracles to others.

Among the main subjects of A Class in Wonders is the idea of forgiveness. The class teaches that correct forgiveness is the important thing to internal peace and awakening to one’s divine nature. According to its teachings, forgiveness is not simply a ethical or ethical exercise but a basic shift in perception. It requires letting get of judgments, grievances, and the perception of sin, and as an alternative, seeing the planet and oneself through the lens of love and acceptance. A Course in Miracles emphasizes that true forgiveness results in the acceptance that people are interconnected and that separation from one another is an illusion.

Another substantial aspect of A Class in Miracles is their metaphysical foundation. The class presents a dualistic see of truth, unique between the ego, which presents divorce, fear, and illusions, and the Sacred Soul, which symbolizes love, truth, and religious guidance. It shows that the pride is the foundation of putting up with and conflict, as the Sacred Spirit offers a pathway to healing and awakening. The target of the program is to help people surpass the ego’s limited perception and align with the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
